This is The Opposite Locker where we try and sort out the cool from the square. This is a discussion system detailing how cool a car is, not how fast, fun, or frivolous it may be, but how well it looks in the cat's pajamas.
But, you may be asking, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

New Kid On The Block
After Danny Bahar's over zealous endeavors and subsequent ousting, the only new Lotus to come out of the British manufacturer was the Evora; its ethos was not consistent with the colin chapman idea of simplification and lightness. While some of you may have been angry with the Bahar scheme, I was more pleased; I would like to see the Lotus name carry on into the future, and this won't happen if they just keep producing the Elise for 100 years. So the Evora may be a necessary evil, yet we are here today to decide something else entirely: is it cool?
The Big Question : For a blatant 911 rival, does this Lotus keep you with the crowd or set you apart?
Lotus Evora

Saw one for the fist time in person this weekend, it's a gorgeous car. I say frigid.

I saw one about a month ago in this color and couldn't take my eyes off of it. Very cool because it looks and sounds great, and put simply: because you didn't buy the previous cayman if you have one.

Any car that can make you stop in awe is certainly cool. I say Frigid.

I have a real problem with a couple things. The DB9 really is sub-zero. The 458 is cool.
This Lotus isn't an Elise. It is a larger Elise wannabe. It isn't really a real Lotus IMO. It is a pretender and pretenders are uncool.

It's a relatively unknown car, but it does look sharp. And if someone asks you about your car you can say 'it's a Lotus Evora, a British sports car, I like it'. This does not sound overly expensive, but does sound like you made a very individual choice by buying a british sports car. The car has an evocative name instead of a nerdy number. In short, this car makes you look like someone who buys what he likes without wanting to flaunt his wealth.
Therefore Evora is a cool car.
Also, it's not a 911. By not buying a 911, you're automatically cooler than the guy that bought a 911. 911's are cars for old men in their midlife crisis and are not cool, no matter what the list above says (The 300C on top disqualifies the entire list imo, 300C's are as uncool as cars get).

I like it! Light weight 4-seater with a Toyota engine, which gives the Camry major street cred as the Elise did to the Corolla.
All the lifestyle shit Dany Bahar keeps it from being frigid, but the car is still cool.

It looks great in pictures, but you wont be mobbed at each gas station. it sounds good and its pretty quick but you wont be raped at each gas station. its exotic and special but getting repairs or parts wont be like getting mob raped at a gas station.
Cool.

I think it's more for people that would buy an Elise but don't want to daily drive a race car.

Cool, but only really because it's alternative. It's good looking, but not stunning. It's fast, but not mind-boggling. I really like them, but they're not an all-time great.
I think they'll mature well though.

I just realized that McQueen would've been 38 during the filming of Bullitt, and Jacquleine Bisset was 23.
Anyway, I was never one for the Evora until I saw one in person. White with dark wheels and red interior. Stunning, frigid.

Tell that to Walter White and see what happens.
